Over the years a number of myths have arisen concerning Sherman’s Origins and mannerisms. Here is an example of two such myths:
Sherman’s Sensitive Paws
The Myth of Sherman’s Sensitive Paws arises from the fact that he was rescued from California. The myth goes that his front paws are so sensitive because he was rescued from the California wildfires and burned his paws making them extremely sensitive and causing him a lifelong trauma. This myth has been debunked as Sherman was adopted and moved to Oregon in 2019 in the wildfires in question occurred in 2020.
Sherman’s Fear of Birds
Another myth about Sherman is that his fear of birds comes from an incident prior to his rescue where he was walking with his dog family and a group of hawks descended upon them and took them away and the last time he saw his mother was when the hawk picked her up from on top of him as she was shielding Sherman from its talons as it carried her away. Well this story is surely sensational, it is more likely that Sherman is simply scared of birds and their sounds.
Sherman operates on an extremely rigid schedule. In the morning he eats first (after his brother Odie the cat, of course), then he eats Odie’s leftovers, then he heads outside to tend to his personal needs.
During the morning, he barks at squirrels and rests up for his midday walk. Afterwards, he naps until his dinnertime at 5pm sharp. Then it’s time for training, first some tricks, then out for an evening walk with his pack where he performs his beefer blowouts.
Finally, it’s time or another nap and then bedtime, 10 o’clock sharp.
